| Detailed Itinerary : |
DAY 01: Arrival Cochin Welcomed by Kerala Travel Centre representative at the airport and transferred to your hotel. A port town since early centuries, Cochin, also known as the spice coast of India, attracted traders and invaders from the world over. Needless to say, Cochin offers you some fascinating snippets of history and culture. Relax and unwind at the hotel. In the evening enjoy a relaxing sunset cruise. Overnight at the Koder House. DAY 02: Cochin - Kannur (By Train)Drive to Ernakulam Railway station to board a train to Kannur. Enjoy a short train journey through some very picturesque locations. On arrival at Kannur, transfer to your hotel. Drive to Kannur, a land with a resonant past where myths and legends abound. The ships of Solomon are believed to have anchored here at one time. In addition, Kannur enjoys the credit of havingbeen the cradle of many a colourful folk art and folk music of Kerala. Enjoy a Theyyam dance demonstration in a temple near your resort. DAY 03: Kannur Go for an optional sightseeing tour to explore the local areas that include the Parassinikkadavu temple, Kannur Fort and the handloom industries. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at the resort. (Vehicle at disposal)
DAY 04: Kannur - Tellicherry (21kms/1hrs)Drive to Thalassery (or Tellicherry as the British christened it during the times of the Raj), a vibrant fishing town in the north of Calicut which is famous for the 3 C's- Circus, Cricket and Cakes. It is known for being the first British settlement in Kerala and needless to say Cakes and Cricket were both introduced here by the British. Tellicherry is famous all over today for its bakeries and cakes. It is also rich in culture and traditions of the North of Kerala. Check into the majestic Ayesha Manzil.Built in 1862 by an English gentleman called Murdoch Brown, this mansion by the sea still retains its colonial charm. DAY 05: Tellicherry You could also drive to the fascinating Muzhipillangad Beach which is Kerala's only drive –in beach where you can drive along miles of virgin white sands or laze on the beach and be mesmerized by the beauty of the place. In the evening take part in a cookery demonstration by Faiza your hostess, who is renowned for her 'Mopilla' cuisine. Overnight at the Ayesha Manzil. (Full board) (Vehicle at disposal)
DAY 06: Tellicherry - Vythiri (75kms/2hrs)Drive to Wayanad set in the picturesque Western Ghats and mountains at an altitude of about 2000 meters above sea level. Littered with tropical rain forests, dense hills, rolling paddy fields, spice plantations and valleys, Wayanad is a hitherto undiscovered location offering breathtaking views. DAY 07: Vythiri Wake up to the chirping of the birds in the forest and the sound of streams meandering and gushing around your cottage. Today you could go boating on the Pookot lake. With its own dream-like serenity, this natural freshwater lake which is surrounded by mountains, meadows and trees on all sides. Overnight at the Resort. (Full board) (Vehicle at disposal)
DAY 08: Vythiri - Calicut (80kms/3hrs)Drive to Calicut also called us Kozhikode, the traditional capital of North Kerala and it is a leading trading centre for spices on the west coast. On arrival, check into you hotel where you can unwind. It was in Calicut that the great voyager Vasco Da Gama landed in the 14th century in his quest for spices thus putting it on the world map. In the evening go for a relaxing cruise in your private houseboat through the stunning backwaters of Calicut. Cruising along palm fringed banks and watching the sunset is a truly exhilarating experience. Overnight at the Kadavu Resort. (Vehicle at disposal)
DAY: 09 Calicut - Cochin (By Flight)Drive to Calicut airport to board flight to Cochin. On arrival, transfer to the hotel for relaxation. Go for a sightseeing tour of Cochin which will include - The Jewish Synagogue in what is locally called the Jew Town, St. Francis Church which is the oldest European Church in India, the Santa Cruz Basilica built in 1557 by the Portuguese, the Dutch Palace, the Spice market and the 15th century Chinese fishing nets believed to have been brought by Chinese traders. Enjoy a full body Ayurveda massage today. Overnight at the Koder House. (Vehicle at disposal)
DAY 10: Cochin - Departure Departure transfer to Cochin airport for return flight. (Vehicle for transfer)
